Danish doom magicians Katla bring a new dimension of Doom with their new album Scandinavian Pain - the end of the world will be heralded on March 21, 2025 via Napalm Records! Scandinavian Pain deals with dark themes such as depression, shame, greed and guilt. The trio tells stories of the end of the world and religious manipulation, even reaching back to the colonial era. On the cover, which is stylistically reminiscent of early black metal, the black dog is an atmospheric symbol of melancholy. This motif comes from the English writer and poet Dr. Samuel Johnson. In the folklore of his homeland, the dog is regarded as the bearer of bad omens, a demon that lurks in the night and spreads darkness and terror wherever it roams - the dog from hell, just as dark and groovy as the music of Katla.
