Marianno "Limited Edition"

Marianno is the name of the country estate in Dartmouth, Massachusetts where the five children of a New England family grew up during the early part of the last century.
This is the story of that family as seen through the eyes of the youngest. She describes with humor and sympathy the characteristics of its members, their customs and traditions and the charm and grace of a way of life that has all but disappeared. She gives a vivid picture of the children's summer paradise and the myriad diversions of farm life, the festive and succulent Sunday dinners with their assortment of friend and relatives; winters spent with Grandpa and the disciplines of the little private school where five grade occupied one room; all the small dramas that made growing up varied and lively.
Lydia Prescott Thayer, mother of Lydia and Bruce Thayer, had lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband since 1936.
