The Motorola DS6878-SR Symbol handheld wireless omnidirectional LED barcode reader is black, comes with a charging base, and can be used to scan and decode linear one-dimensional (1D), two-dimensional (2D), and Portable Document Format 417 (PDF417) barcodes. A 650-nanometer (nm) laser produces lines of light in an omnidirectional pattern to scan barcodes on labels or cell phone screens at different angles. Bluetooth capability allows the barcode reader to transmit data wirelessly. The charging base plugs into the USB port of a computer or another host system (sold separately) to transmit barcode data and power the barcode reader. Mounting holes allow the base to be mounted to a desk or wall. Motorola Remote Scanner Management software (available separately for download) can be used by an administrator to manage the device remotely. The barcode reader weighs 8.4 oz. and measures 7.3 x 2.7 x 3.85 inches (H x W x D).
