【③ Review】
From the opening track "So Hard To Say Goodbye" featuring Gerald Albright's alto sax, you're immediately drawn into its world. This is smooth jazz at its finest... And then comes the ballad "Didn't I" featuring the admired lady soul, Lisa Fisher, followed by the pleasant guitar of Norman Brown in "Cobra"... What a luxurious prelude... The cover of Norman's signature song "You Are My Starship" features Peabo, reaching the peak early on. No, no, the second half is also great... A masterpiece released in 2000, showcasing the multi-artist and sound creator Connors, and a very rare disc.
Due to being used as a store sample, there are some scratches on the CD, and there are sample imprints on the disc label and booklet, so please understand.
And, of course, I can't help but mention this. ① "Mr. C"... Without me, a novice, saying anything, it's one of Norman's most popular masterpieces. I only recently realized, rereading the booklet, that Marion Meadows, the saxophonist I favored that year, was in his "Starship Orchestra," so I'm not even in the conversation. But when I first heard this work when it was released on CD, I was truly moved by Beau Williams' vocals that immediately jumped out at me. My man, young Glenn Jones sounded subdued, didn't he? Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. Anyway, both of them are the best... And, somehow, the conversation always drifts to the vocalists, is that Norman's destiny?
Please understand that this is a used disc, with wear and tear on the case, damage to the booklet and obi, and scratches on the CD. Please purchase with the understanding that it is a used item.
