Because the S530D has an onboard Dolby Digital decoder, you can connect its 5.1-channel outputs to a Dolby Digital-ready receiver's inputs. Sony includes built-in speaker setup controls for important parameters such as speaker size and distance from the sweet spot. The Digital Cinema Sound system allows you to compensate for non-ideal speaker placement or a complete lack of surround speakers.
